Caroline Colóm Vásquez holds a BFA in Art and Design from the University of Texas, Austin. She and her husband, Jose Vasquez-Corbalan, a furniture maker and woodworker, share a passion for handicraft and the desire to create heirlooms for future generations. They launched Paloma's Nest in 2007, through which they produce a large collection of gifts, tabletop products, and other keepsakes. Each piece is created by hand through a labor-intensive process in their Austin, Texas studio.
