How To: Host an At-Home Bridal Fitting

Invite your mom, grandma, and close friends over for second opinions while you try on your could-be gown for the first time. Add some refreshments, tunes, and voilà! Here are a few planning tips…

In the Weeks Before:

1) Contact a BHLDN stylist for help narrowing down your favorite gowns. Click here for more information on how the stylists can help you during your wedding planning process

2) Once you've ordered your gown, plan to host your at-home fitting with a week or two of its arrival

3) Decide where you'd like to host the fitting. Whether it's your house or your grandmother's, for example, consider what will be most comfortable and conducive to a special occasion

4) Send out invites (or e-vites). Consider inviting your future mother-in-law too!

5) This event could also be a great opportunity to ask friends and family to be part of your bridal party

Day-Of Prep:

1) Decide on a list of tunes to get you and your girls excited

2) Have fancy drinks and desserts on hand to set the scene and make it feel special

3) Arrange chairs, pillows and/or a seating area for your friends

4) Some try-on essentials: heels for height; accessories for sparkle; a great mirror; hankies; camera

5) Procure a sturdy box to stand on for optimum viewing

6) Designate a photo-savvy friend to take photos throughout

7) Make sure all boys are busy! You don't want the groom stopping by…
