The anonymous reviewer who wrote the first critique on this dress hit the nail on the head. The dress was a big disappointment and looked like a grandma's nightgown. I ordered a size up, a size 8, from my usual size 6 in dresses. I figured the dress would likely run small, given it was designed by someone in the fashion industry. Surprisingly, the dress was way too big on top, and the bottom was way too puffy around the waist (like a maternity dress). I could have easily gone with a size 6 or even tried a size 4. Also, you cannot really tell in the picture, but the lace on top is not all one color. To me, that is just poor design and not pleasing to the eye. Overall, it's really too bad, because the dress just looks absolutely lovely in the picture. I returned it, and I'm not planning on ordering a smaller size. It's not worth it.

I am 6' 165#, and typically a perfect size 8. I ordered this dress in an 8, and while the whole dress is long enough, the rest of it fits very oddly. The chest was large and gaping away from my body even with my most padded bra, the embroidered waist was an empire fit and then ballooned out from right under the breast area. The dress does not look like the nice flow-from-the-waist like it did in the photo. The material is very light and airy, which would have been perfect for my late June wedding, but the overall fit looked more like a retro grandma's nightgown than a bohemian wedding dress. Also, as a larger person (height-wise and with broad shoulders), I was very surprised at how overwhelming the different patterns on the top were. Aside from feeling like I was swimming in the dress, the patterns were very distracting. Overall I think this dress may work for someone much shorter with an ample chest and hips -- an hourglass figure could fill this out and make it "pop" without feeling overwhelmed. A seamstress wouldn't be able to tailor the dress smaller around, but could easily shorten it from the material at the waist, under the embroidery.
