My favorite part of this dress is the side view silhouette. It gives you an incredibly sexy 'S' curve hugging the curve of your waist to lower back and butt and the very elegant fishtail train. Very minimalist / bodycon/ Hollywood glamour. Its a total red carpet gown.
Here's the problem-- the dress is not very figure flattering from the front view. I'm a curvy size 8 in street clothes. Ordered the 12 which fit like a glove on the hips and booty (34DD, 37-29-39). The 12 is loose in the waist but incredibly body conscious and unforgiving, thin and tight across the stomach and hips. I ordered the dress and tried it on at home in my bedroom with heels. I can tell it is not easy to walk in, sit in, or dance in, and I would be self-conscious eating much of anything while wearing it, even if I lose weight. I decide that I would rather be comfortable, so I went went the Grazia dress for my reception dress (see my other review) and returning this one. The hunt continues for an awesome ceremony dress.

I visited 3 bridal stores and tried on dozens of dresses before finding this one at the Midtown NYC store. It was not what I thought I'd end up with but it fit like a glove and I knew it was the one. I wanted a simple, classic, sexy dress and this was it. It's close fitting so I don't feel the need to wear a bra with it (I'm a B cup) but I'll probably get cups or some small additional padding added. Overall, depending on what size you go with and how you get this tailored, it could be very tight, showing every curve. I ended up ordering a Size 2 since my measurements were 2 on the bottom, 0 on top, figuring it's safer to have a little more to work with. Wonderful dress and I can't wait to wear this for my summer wedding. As a side note, I was amazed with how fast it came; I tried it on on a Monday and it was at my house by Friday.

I went into BHLDN in Beverly Hills looking to try on a different dress, but then I found this one! The sample was a size 4, but it fit more like a street size 2. They had to squeeze me into it, and I could barely step onto the little platform they had, so I knew I needed to order a size 6. I ended up having it altered down in the waist, shortened the straps, and had the train hemmed, but the hips and butt fit perfectly. My measurements are 34-27-38.
Pros: 1. Timeless, stunning, and downright gorgeous without being over the top or trendy! I feel like in 10 years I'll look at my wedding pictures and won't be thinking "why on earth did I choose that??" 2. It can be customized with any belt, so no two dresses will be alike (unless there's no belt, which is still pretty). 3. So many people complimented my rear end. I heard that I looked like J-Lo, Pippa Middleton, and Kim Kardashian. My friends that went with me when I tried it on said I HAD to get it for the back side alone! 4. For a small chested girl, this bodice is wonderful. It gives the illusion of having a chest, especially if you have cups sewn in like I did.
Cons: This dress is not forgiving if you have any issues with your figure. You can see every lump and bump underneath it, and shapewear is no help. I tried on about 6 different types of shapewear from the heaviest duty spanx to really thin material, and you could see ALL of the seams. I was just trying to smooth out my tummy a little, but I looked worse with it on. I ended up just having to work out really hard and making sure I didn't eat anything that week that would make me bloat. I was still self-conscious a little bit that day but made sure to keep everything sucked in. :-) For this reason I gave it 4 stars, but otherwise I loved it!

BHLDN was the only place where I tried dresses on and this one was not on my radar. I am thin, flat chested and very broad, so many of the dresses looked terrible in the shoulder area. This was one of the last dresses I tried on I was pleasantly surprised with the fit. It's tight, but it's very stretchy. It definitely hugs every part of you. On a bad day it may not be as flattering. The back of the dress is also very elegant and was the major selling point for me ... especially the way it hugs you all the way down. It could be classy and simple without buying the belt, too!
