I'm new to BHLDN, though I've been anthro customer for years. What I've learned is this and the other dress I purchased were both constructed to be worn WITHOUT a bra. I don't mean, oh your straps will show. No-- I mean both of them have boning and cups in place with the THEORY that you can go bra-less. Your size when purchased according to the sizing guide will fit like a glove and there wont be room for an undergarment. It's so hard to zip up, but it has to be firm to be snug enough to get the undergarment tight enough to keep all your bits in place.
36DDD (43") (<< I purchased size 16, i'm normally a 12/14) This dress was both too big and too small at the same time. Ultimately I think it was the right fit- it just didn't have the support I need and the layers of undergarments were VERY difficult to manage.
Unfortunately, for me -- this dress in particular was one of those, really hard to get on, you're stuck inside of it, having a panic attack and not sure you're getting it on right kind of dresses.
The inner bra, has cups, and then additional flaps and layers of fabric aren't secured. You have to carefully twist and tweak the flaps properly, with no viable point of access and you need to thread your body parts all in the right places. The zipper ends not at the top of the fabric so you have one of those 'window' zippers and when you have a tight garment and a window zipper you eliminate some options like reaching in from the top or sliding it over your hips to get in. There were many times I had to lean forward, breath slowly and gently wiggle to get myself in or out which wasn't a problem with the other dress I tried in the same size.
When I FINALLY got the thing on right, and boy was it snug, it didnt' offer enough side chest support and as such my chest spread outwards and became wider and less shapely. There was a bit of the bra in the back that I could not for all the tea in china get to lay flat and there was a foreign object sticking out the back (I think it was a silicon coated seam for the back part of the undergarment I could not get it to lay flat)-- plus ample quantities of back lumpiness because of the mismanagement of my chest in the front. The other dress I tried on did NOT lead to backfat-- so I blame this dress.
The sweetheard neckline under the lace is the bra part- and because of lack of proper support in the underbust my chest sagged causing some minor creasing in the underbust region which made the dress look more frumpy than it should. Over all the dress sagged in the front while I was trying it on and I had little confidence it'd stay put for a whole evening.
Additionally the dress despite being very tight all around, was too loose in the upper front parts of the bra/sweetheart neckline and despite nonstick grippy silicone around that top seam, the bra kept slipping down and there was a bit of a WOo hoo wardrobe malfunction moment I simply couldn't live with. The bra isn't secured to the front or side of the dress except a few inches down, probably to avoid tugging/ripping the lace, however it led to some other challenges like the bra falling down or twisting.
That being said the fabric was a pale café au lait or taupey champagne a bit more brown that I expected from picture though it was still lovely. Save from the serious challenges in support for the bust and the awkwardness of anchoring and properly placing the undergarment and getting it to lay flat the garmet is otherwise very well made with a nice rich soft fabric that looked lovely. it was lined with a very silky slip in the skirt area which appears at least in my lighting to prevent any see-thru ness even when wearing a black undergarment.
If my chest were still a 34D or more firm and better able to survive without really great undergarments this would probably have been a great dress. What I've learned is BHLDN creates a quality garment, though in this case it could have used significant improvements esp for the large chested.
Another thought, the crew style neck doesn't generally flatter my large best very well-- this was cute... however it wasn't jaw dropping.
Ultimately it was the difficulty of securing the undergarment and getting all the fabric to lay flat and stay put --- which made me absolutely decided, this one is going back. Once you're zipped in there's no reaching in from the top (crew neck) or underneath) tight at the underbust with boning in place -- and I had to reach in through the armpit holes to try to flatten out the bumps and lumps.

This dress is made well and has great structure inside. It's what I would expect from a BHLDN/Anthropologie product. It was just a bit plain for me so I returned it. But very sweet.
