This traditional style is well suited to more formal ceremonies and pairs nicely with gowns that have a bit of a train. We love the look of a chapel veil that extends slightly beyond the hem of a gown.
A BALLET VEIL GENERALLY FALLS somewhere between the knee and ankle. Try pairing this style with a column or sheath gown for a slim, streamlined look that walks the line between traditional and contemporary perfectly.
A FINGERTIP VEIL QUITE LITERALLY ENDS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS, though this varies slightly from veil to veil and bride to bride. This particular length is fairly versatile and can be worn with many lengths of dress. Decorative edging is popular on fingertip veils and can provide romantic detailing which can add to, or play to, your dress; however a fingertip veil with minimal or no edging is still lovely and often creates a more ethereal, airy look.
THE MANTILLA VEIL IS A STYLE THAT FALLS approximately elbow-length and was originally worn by Spanish women during formal ceremonies to cover their head and shoulders. They can be affixed to the head in various places with a comb to achieve different looks. This style suits long and draped gowns best.
ONE OF THE MORE PLAYFUL STYLES, a blusher veil fits loosely around the hair and can be placed either in partly (or fully) in front of the face or lay back on top of the head. Or, you might choose to wear it both ways throughout your ceremony. Blushers generally work well with short flirty dresses, though not exclusively. Material and design play a big role in the formality of each blusher.
A RATHER VINTAGE-INSPIRED STYLE, the birdcage veil features a small swath of wide gauge netting that rests closely to the face and falls to just above the nose. Often this style is anchored at the top of the head with decorative elements such as feathers and flowers, or is used in conjunction with a pillbox hat, bibi, or other festive millinery. This sophisticated look compliments formfitting gowns beautifully.
