At 4am on Christmas Eve morning, Elisabeth couldn't have imagined she was about to have her most memorable Christmas yet. The pair had just returned from a holiday party at her family's house, when Peter asked coyly if she felt
too tired to open her gift. 'Of course not!' was her reply, as she followed him eagerly to their Christmas tree. With eyes closed tight she felt as he lowered to one knee, and seconds later 'Will you be my wife?' he asked. She said yes!
With a clear idea of what she was looking for, Elisabeth struck out when she began to search for her perfect gown. 'I was looking for a vintage-inspired dress, but wasn't pleased with what I
found in the local shops', she said. On Valentine's Day 2011 however, Elisabeth's luck changed. 'The dress is amazingly pretty, with beautiful details and a gorgeous vintage-bohemian feel'.
Having a knack for all things crafty, Elisabeth and Peter set to work on personalizing their wedding. The pair fashioned mason jar candle holders, a collection of vintage tea cups and vases for floral centerpieces, and their very own kitchen chalkboard in a vintage
frame to showcase the menu. A handmade paper backdrop was used at both the ceremony and the cocktail reception's photo booth, adding to the 'simple, authentic and home-spun' event.
