Try it on and you're sold!
I tried this dress on at the Chestnut Hill location and Jesicka was so helpful. I had a lot of different ideas about what I wanted my dress to have- Lace, cap sleeve, elegant, casual, etc.
She did a great job of helping me find that when I tried on this dress! I am not particularly fond of the sweetheart neckline, but after putting on this dress and seeing the fit and the reaction from everyone, I knew I found something special.
This gown is dramatic and subtle in all the right ways. It's design is clean and flattering to all figures.
The BHLDN team was able to add accessories like the Savannah Topper and Zadie Sash which was that perfect romantic look I wanted. I plan to wear the topper for my ceremony and remove it for the reception! Talk about a quick dress change!
This was the last dress I imagined myself wearing on my wedding day, but in the end was exactly the right one for me! Try it on, you will be sold!
Sizing: I tried on sample size 4 and it was big- ordered the 2 and it fits perfect on top (a lil snug in the hips-but feel confident I can make it work!)

Be careful of material!
I think it should be made very clear that this dress WILL WRINKLE. Since it's a matte satin it does not steam flat, and it absolutely does not look like the photo shown here. The BHLDN associate that convinced me to buy this dress was very nice, but truly did not understand the fit. I typically wear an 8, and purchased a 12 due to the bust. I wouldn't say I'm curvy, but I am tall (5'9"). A huge concern of mine was that the dress would not stay up and to be honest, I was not planning on purchasing a strapless gown for that reason. However, she showed me this dress paired with a topper (which I loved), and told me that with alterations I would not have an issue. She also said that the dress was easy to alter, which was one of my concerns. Done, I but the bullet and trusted her. Upon getting alterations, the seamstress groaned when she saw this dress. She said the Dakota was a pain to take in, that the material was terrible and at that point, I had missed my 30 day return window. At the end of the day, the dress was fine, but it did not stay up and I spent the evening yanking it up underneath the topper... even having a bridesmaid, unzip and rehook me many times throughout the night. It was a hard way to learn what I had suspected, and I truly which the service at BHLDN was more honest. On a side note, she sold me the wrong size topper and when I went to exchange it, I was questioned by the manager and then told that it would be final sale. In my opinion, poor customer service. I love the store, the aesthetic, but it is clearly about the sales for them. Ladies, trust your gut when buying your wedding gown!

Too short for tall women
I really wanted to love this dress. I flew up to Seattle because I couldn't get an appointment in Los Angeles. It's a simple dress, but that's what I wanted- timeless and classy. I also bought a lace cover up and beaded belt. When the dress came, it was definitely too short. My only option would be to wear flats.
Also, as others have commented, the seems show. My mom took one look at it and I could see the disappointment on her face. She did not like it at all. My mom is not a fashionista so to have her comment on the seams and overall quality of the dress, said a lot.
If you are looking for a simple dress and are under 5'6", this would probably be a great option for the price point. Others who posted real wedding pictures here- the dress looks amazing on you. Unfortunately for me, it just didn't work.

I would wear it everyday if I could!
I thought the dress was wonderful! I am 5'6, 120 lb, and a 36D cup. The dress fit wonderfully for me! I orginally had a size 6 and had it altered down to a 2 (yay yoga for losing weight for the wedding!) and it went splendid. We added a little boning to it, so make sure it didn't wrinkle near my stomach. I felt like an angel in my dress, and I can't wait to find some way to wear it again.
