I tried this gown on in the store and immediately fell in love with the curve-skimming fit. I ordered it soon after and when I received it, I was shocked that the beading and sequins began falling off as soon as I took it out of the garment bag. I tried it on anyway, and, after struggling with the difficult and kind of junky zipper, found that it does not fit like the dress I tried in-store. The gown I tried on in store had just been unpacked, so I know that it was not stretched out or anything like that. I examined the dress more closely after taking it off, and found that there were broken and missing beads/sequins everywhere, as well as loose threads sticking out. None of the beads/sequins were sewn on securely at all. I spoke to BHLDN about it and they had me return it, saying that it must have been a fluke with this dress. They then sent me another of the same dress and though it is a bit better, the craftsmanship is still really flimsy and it is covered in loose threads/beads/sequins. Definitely not worth $1500. I had been dreaming about getting my wedding dress from BHLDN from the day their website went live. I could not be more disappointed.

glamorous, elegant, classic gown
I went into my appointment thinking I knew what I wanted- simple, white, mermaid gown, very little embellishment or sparkle! I hesitantly tried on the Elsa, thinking it wouldn't really suit me, but I could not have been more wrong. The moment I slipped that dress on, I knew it was the one for me. I felt glamorous, sexy, and it showed off my curves in all the right places. I am 5'7'' and I weigh 130lbs, my bust and hips are quite curvy, and my waist is very small. I wear a size 4 in dresses usually, and this dress in a size 4 fit perfectly without any clips/adjustments! I would possibly take it in maybe an inch or so at the waist, I would also take off the train as it is beaded and kept crunching under my shoes which was slippery, and I was wearing 5 inch heels and the dress was still a bit too long. These are all very minor adjustments though, and would just make the dress even more perfect for me. Overall, it is a BEAUTIFUL dress, and it is definitely worth trying on. It was not what I was looking for, but I feel like it was made for me. The Elsa tulle skirt is very beautiful, but I haven't made a decision on that yet because I think the dress is so beautiful on its own. Thank you to the amazing staff & stylists at BHLDN Seattle for encouraging me to try on this gorgeous gown and for being as excited as I was about finding *the* dress.

Unique & Stunning!
I received this dress via overnight shipping (arrived on time) and I fell in love immediately. I ordered both the gown and the tulle skirt that goes over, and I've never seen a wedding dress quite like it. I will be getting married on a farm in Colorado and there will be some vintage flare to it all...this dress will fit in perfectly. I plan to wear the gown and skirt for the ceremony and just the gown to make our grand entrance in to the reception. I had to get the high waist and bust taken in, but the backside fit just fine. I opted to chop some of the train off as the beads kept rolling under my feet and made it difficult to walk. I also had the seamstress attach temporary bra cups in the dress, but ultimately decided to go with a strapless bra (the one with adhesive sides). In the right light, the gown is a tiny bit see through so I'd plan your undergarments accordingly. As for shoes, I'm able to see about 2 inches of my toes when I walk in the dress, so I found shoes with very pretty toes (silver shoe with some bling by the toe). Overall, very happy with BHLDN's customer service and cannot wait to wear it to my wedding!

Had such high hopes
I ordered this dress because it reminded me of the beautiful gowns of Jenny Packham. It is very beautiful in person, with intricate beadwork and detailing. However, the dress just wasn't flattering. At 5'7" and 150 lbs, I'm a bit curvy with broader shoulders and muscular arms, a small waist, and large hips/thighs. When I ordered a size 6 I was afraid that it might be a bit small, but I followed the size guide. I didn't need to be worried about it being too small... it ended up being much too large and hung off of me in an unflattering way. I would strongly recommend ordering at least 1-2 sizes down from what you normally are if you want to go with this gown. Additionally, all of the beading made the dress very heavy at the bottom which pulled on the top and exposed the cups of every undergarment that I tried to wear with it. The straps aren't sufficient to support the weight of the dress and even when I tacked them up the front of the dress continued to sag down because of the weight of the beading. I also wouldn't recommend wearing nothing underneath the gown (as another reviewer suggested) because contrary to what others have noted, the underlayer is made of poly fabric and is very unforgiving. I'm really disappointed that this dress wasn't closer to what I had hoped it would be. My search continues.
