Dumpy Bridesmaid Dress
I bought this as a bridesmaid dress. At 5'4 and 115, the size 2 is way too big. The skirt extended below my knee and the whole thing drooped rather than flared. It looked like a frock from the Sound of Music. The top is also too large, with the straps being too long. I had the hemline moved up 5", but I left the top alone because the seamstress said the back pleating was complicated and wanted to charge more $$$. The color is nice. It's well made. But, it's not a flattering dress even after my expensive alteration.

Not what I expected.
Positives: I LOVE that this dress has pockets!
Not so positives: 1. I am 5'4" and both the size 2 and 4 were bordering on just at/below knee length. The model must have mile-long legs. 2. This is the 2nd BHLDN dress I've tried on where the natural waist of the dress sits above mine (I do have a slightly long torso). 3. I was very disappointed in the fabric. It arrived very wrinkled, the pleats did not hold their shape in the skirt or the neckline. It seems that the fabric would be prone to wrinkling. 3. The color was also not as pale as pictured.
I wanted a less traditional wedding dress, and the idea of this one appealed to me, but the reality did not. I expected to feel like a classy lady when I put it on, but instead I felt like a little girl going to a picnic.
