Wow this did NOT fit large on me. I usually wear a 4 and ordered a 6 - fits like a glove!

Beyond heavenly
First, IT RUNS BIG!! I ordered a size smaller than my usual 6 and the fit is perfect. I guess I did that because I thougth the dress would look better in someone smaller so I planned to lose some weight . I have a 34 B bust 29 waist and 35 hip and the 4 fit like a glove. The material is stiff but soft silk organza and I feel like I am wearing couture!!
If in doubt get it - size down- the sale price is ridiculous this looks like a $1,000 dress!!!!

larger than expected, choose size by true waist measurement only
For comparison's sake, I have a 28" waist, 37" hips, and can wear anything from a 4-8 in dresses and pants depending on the brand. I'm definitely smaller on top (34B), but still, I feel that this dress sizing is a bit off. Based on the size chart, I was between a 6 (by waist) or an 8 (by hips), so I ordered the 8 and it's HUGE on me. As in, laughably huge. So be forewarned, with the open back of the dress and the fullness of the skirt cut, the ONLY thing I would go off of to order this is the size chart's waist measurements. I definitely could be in a 6, maybe even a 4. My impression from other reviews (tho very helpful overall!) and the picture made me think the dress was probably tight in the waist, but that was not my experience in trying it on.
In other news, it is gorgeous, the craftmanship is impressive, and I think it could be stunning if it fit me like a glove. Also, BHLDN makes you feel fabulous with how beautifully they package everything in the box!

Amazing detail and texture
This is by far the most visually appealing dress in my closet. The lace is of very high quality and the pearls just make it darling! But, the reason I am writing this review is to inform others of the fit. It is ideal for women with a large bust and tiny waist. I am a 34DD and the 8 fit perfectly on my chest but the waist is half an inch too small (my waist is 29"). So, be prepared to either get the waist taken out a little or get the chest taken in. I was also very impressed with the amount of support the bust cups provide! I can never go without a bra and this dress works just fine. Waiting to wear it in the Spring!
