Sweeping Taffeta Ball Gown
Stunning, classic gown!
After falling in love with this dress when BHLDN first launched, I was thrilled to find it was still available when I got engaged! I made a trip from Boston to the Chicago store to try on a handful of gowns and this was definitely the one. I am typically a size 4, 5'6, 32DD bust, which makes things difficult. I had to size up to an 8 in this gown and unfortunately the tailors didn't do an amazing job bringing everything in. My crisis was averted by adding a gorgeous sash (the Simply Silk sash in smoky lavender, which was one of my wedding colors!)
The fabric was lovely, and it worked nicely with my pale complexion. I paired it with the Cirque Veil in Candlelight and it was perfect. I received endless compliments and am just as in love with this gown as I was the day I saw it!

This dress is stunning. The taffeta feels buttery and unbelievably luxurious, and the overall look of the dress is very unique but still really tasteful and utterly romantic. I wasn't planning to buy my dress for a few more months, but I've always loved the idea of buttons up the back, and this was too perfect to pass up. Plus, at the sale price, it's a steal. In a word: dream-like--I can't wait to try it on with my mom's veil, and I know it will be just right for our vintage wedding in the mountains!
P.S. I usually wear a 6 at Anthro but am able to make the 4 work (just a little snug in the bodice).

This is the kind of gown you will never want to take off. Comfortable, classy, ethereal. People did not stop raving about how beautiful the dress was all night. It was perfect for our rustic garden themed wedding. One of the best choices I made...aside from choosing my husband :)

Romantic and Classic
It was important for me to find a dress that fit my personality, and this was it...classic, unique, and comfortable. I stopped looking as soon as I saw this dress. To me the color is a warm and creamy ivory (rather than tan) that I feel would compliment many skin-tones. The fabric felt rich and luscious and the dress is clearly well made, from the box it came in, the many layers that add dimension and style, to the actual, working buttons. A big plus for me was the pockets! The neckline is modest, yet romantic...my seamstress felt it was "sexier than what is typically popular these days" and was reminiscent of Victorian lines. The interior corset added to a secure and flattering fit, but was comfortable to move and dance in. The bow is larger but in no way is it overwhelming. The size 6 fit me perfectly #I'm usually a size 2 at Anthropologie#, though it needed significant hemming, which was a bit costly due to the number of layers. Thankful for those layers, as I was married in November...didn't feel the chill at all. I felt elegant and beautiful in this gown, and received many, many compliments and felt this dress fit the mood of the wedding completely. So very happy I found it.
