Marianne Dress

Perfect!
I just purchased this dress for my bridal shower. I plan to have it as a back-up reception dress should I need more freedom to boogie in the later parts of the evening. It is absolutely lovely--even more so in person than in the photos online. The dress is feminine and romantic and, at the same time, a bit mod.
Some details:
- The lace is pretty white, the sleeves and bow in the back(!) are more ivory. Makes for a nice contrast.
- The sleeves have sweet little "glass" buttons that add to the vintage-y feel of the dress.
- I ordered a size 2 on a lark because my regular size, 4, was momentarily out of stock. My dimensions match BHLDN's "4" measurements to the inch, so I was surprised to find that the 2 fits perfectly. In fact, I think the 4 would have been a bit too large (especially with the open back). I wouldn't go as far as to say this dress runs large, but I would suggest that if you're between two sizes you might consider ordering down. That being said, the dress hugs my curves a bit more than it does on the model (NOT surprised by that). If you want to play up the mod part of the dress, have it hang a little more loose and straight, the larger size might be better.
- The open back makes the dress, but it will also make under-garment shopping a bit tricky.
