I tried on this dress at the BHLDN salon in Beverly Hills today and fell in love. I will say that when you first see the dress, the fabric does look a little different than it does on the website, which might be what's jarring some reviewers. But the dress looks great when you put it on, especially with the right accessories, and the silk is so soft and comfortable. And for this price? Unbeatable. So excited to wear this. FWIW I'm 5'8, street size 6, and I ordered an 8 and intend to have it tailored. Also, I found the Beverly Hills salon quite nice and the staff there friendly and helpful. Oh, and one last thing - apparently BHLDN is pronounced "beholden," who knew?

Iâ??m not big on writing reviews, but after reading feedback on this dress I thought I would chime in!
I traveled to several big cities and went to every single wedding boutique imaginable, BHLDN is a beautiful shop with a lovely staff. I am a very simple person and was looking for a simply elegant gown, easy and flowy. Also, going to a lot of wedding shops and boutiques, the price point on this dress is actually extremely low; I truly feel as if this dress is a steal! We eloped on a backpacking trip, so â??packabilityâ?? was essential for me as well. This gown is soft, simple and elegantly beautiful. Compared to other gowns it was exactly what I was looking for: not a lot of bling, beading or flash. Our Andean wedding in Peru was extremely bohemian and we needed a fresh canvas for the ceremony to come alive, this dress was the perfect fit. The Ruth Gown also does not wrinkle easily so packing it up and traveling all over South America was no worry for us! If you like the way this dress looks on the website give it a try. (not to mention BHLDN is one of the VERY few shops that allows you to return if it does not work!) The simplicity really allows you to add detail of what makes your wedding YOURS, not to mention it is amazingly comfortable! I was complimented so many times on my wedding day, and I am so happy I chose this dress!

Said YES to this Dress!!!
I do understand where the other reviewers are coming from - but, I tried this gown on at the Beverly Hills location, and I think the entire experience is really what 'made' this dress.
First off, fits like a glove! The fabric is thin, but not completely see through, the material is soft, delicate and ethereal; it just flows behind you like smoke.
The bust is extremely flattering for anyone over a c-cup, it's still sexy, but definitely not trashy. I plan on wearing one of those backless, stick on your sides bras - (victorias secret)
I was recently in a bridesmaids dress that was so hott and spicy I was embarrassed to be around my family members. It'll be nice to not have to worry about people seeing more of me than me than I want them to.
The tie in the back is so dainty and elegant, however I do feel like the synching at the shoulders was a little thicker than shown on the model, so I might have those tightened up a tad....
So I walk out of the dressing room, and the sales associate Rachel gets my all gussied up in different jeweled sashes and head pieces. It really all came together quite beautifully.
I will have quite a few inches taken off the bottom, but that's expected. I also plan on speaking to a seamstress about attaching a small loop near the bottom so I can pick it up when I'm dancing.
I am fairly curvy I suppose, I'm a size 8/10 jeans, 34D, 135lbs. I tried on a size 10, I ordered a size 6..
Highly recommend this for a beach or even an outdoorsy desert wedding. If you're into Anthro/Free People, are constantly checking out Design Sponge, love air-drying your hair and would also like to eat during your wedding - this dress could be for you!!!!!

I'm just echoing the other reviews here - the fabric is so cheap, and there is hardly any design. I can't wrap my head around the fact that this is $800, while something intricate and beautiful like the Cypress gown is $600.
Would not recommend at all.
