I saw this dress online and liked it, but was not crazy about the tie for the back. It felt too much like a swimsuit top, and very out of place for such a sophisticated dress. When I met with my stylist, Erin, she pulled this dress for me to try. I told her about my concern, and she said the strings could easily be removed and we could come up with a different closure for the back. I was a little hesitant because this dress was SO different from anything I had ever envisioned myself in, but as soon as I put it on, I knew it was the "one". I ordered a size 6 (I am usually a 2/4) and when it came, the only thing that needed to be taken in were the hips. The length was perfect for the height of the heels I purchased to wear. Overall, this dress was absolutely perfect for my Art Deco style wedding. I can't imagine wearing anything else on such a special day.

You really need to have small hips for this dress. I ordered a much bigger size based on the previous review, and wish they had smaller sizes in stock to get a better gauge. The 12 was a giant bag on me and even with alterations, think it would not be flattering based on my body type. Also, no extra beads came with the dress I ordered so couldn't do the keyhole a previous reviewer mentioned. Overall, love the style but need something a little more forgiving.

I have to start this review by saying that my appointment at BHLDN was my third, and each time I told the stylist "NO BLING." I thought I was much more of a lace or tulle bride, but my stylist asked me to trust her and put me in another Rosa Clara dress. It felt so amazing that I asked her if there were any more by the same designer, and when I put on Dylan, I was sold.
She told me that the dresses are patterned in Barcelona and then sent to India for hand-beading, and that level of detail shows. The dress is ivory and the beads are almost milky, not very rhinestone-sparkly. The seams are incredibly flattering. It's very unique, but at the same time on-trend and timeless.
Because of BHLDN's amazing return policy, I bought the dress and immediately took it to one of their recommended seamstresses. She will be removing the ties in the back and using the extra beads provided to close up the back to be more of a keyhole design.
One thing about sizing-- I am a 2/4 in regular dresses (just bought a size 6 Marchesa formal dress for NYE) but I am a size 12 in this dress. Do not be fooled by vanity European sizing!!!
All in all, I am so excited to wear this next summer for my July wedding. It's not what I pictured but it's exactly what I needed.
