I tried on about 8 dresses in the store, but as soon as I tried the McKinley Gown on, there were happy tears and I knew it was the one! The dress came in 1 week after we ordered it and I had it altered to decrease the length (it was quite long) and bring the bust up. I had countless comments about the beautiful blush color of the dress and the romantic lace/tulle detailing.

This dress was an absolute dream to wear on my wedding day. I have pretty curvy hips, and this dress with its full skirt was very flattering. This dress is very true to its size. I only had to get minor alterations done in the chest area and at the hem.

This dress! I always wanted to get married in a ball gown, so finding this beauty was a dream come true for my September wedding this year. Nevertheless, I have run into problems (see under advice)
Pros: I love this dress for the lace detail on the V back and the V front of the bodice. I love the way the dress moves so gracefully when I walk. I also love how the skirt falls in a pleated-fashion, adding to the texture of the tulle. The shape of the dress is very flattering for a curvy or straight figure - it either accentuates your curves or makes you look curvier in all the right places (for reference I am a C34 with a small waist and large hips). Additionally, the blush color is so unique! Everyone who has seen me in this dress - bridesmaids, close family members and customer at the bridal seamstress shop - have effusively complemented me on the dress. In fact, when I was with the seamstress today, I was the only one complimented when there were 4 other brides around me. It really is an eye catcher!
Advice: The dress, in my opinion runs very large - this will, as my experience shows, result in problems with tailoring. According to the fit guide, I am a size 8 (albeit for other clothing with other fits guides on BHLDN, I tend to be a size 4-6). I thought I was in luck, as size 8 was the only one available. Unfortunately, it was way too big - the back and front lace puckered significantly and my 4 inch heels + my 5'7'' height were not tall enough for the dress. Nevertheless, it was the only size available until August and I am getting married in September - "So let the seamstress handle it!" I thought. As seen in the pictures, my seamstress cut off about 2 inches in fabric at the bottom and put a bustle in. She also took off the top of the straps to get rid of the puckering, thus raising the bodice, making it look much more conservative than how it was intended. I now find the bodice to be a different bodice: higher at the neck, bust and hips, thus shortening my torso (my actual breasts and hips are lower than what the dress indicates) and covering more of the chest (as seen). The new front is fine but not what I had envisioned, so I am talking with my seamstress tomorrow. If you are worried about tailoring, I would suggest that 1) get 1 size smaller or 2) when tailoring, instead of removing part of the strap, see if the tailor can remove cloth from the zipper or sides of the bodice (unless you do want a more conservative top like mine).
