Classy and Comfortable
I fell in love with how timeless this dress is. It could probably be worn again as a cocktail dress and fits a wide age range. I'm in my 20's but this is my second wedding so we are keeping it a low-key affair at a lodge in the Smoky Mountains. This dress is comfortable, extremely well lined (I can wear black lace underwear!), and flirty but not revealing. It's quite large. I wear a 6 on the sizing chart and ended up in a 2. I might have been able to go with a 0. The neckline broadens the shoulders. I doubt this would look good on a heavier girl. I love the feel of the silk swooshing around my legs and I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams in this dress!

I really, really wanted to love this dress but it is lacking structure that most of us non-size 0 gals need. I am deciding between short and long and went with 2 Tadashi Shoji dresses (one long - still on back order - and Lara). It is so beautiful from the box and I was excited. I tried it on all by myself, zipped it up, and then I looked in the mirror. While it fit (with actually a little extra room), it was so UNFLATTERING. It did absolutely nothing for my natural waistline, except make it look frumpier. The mid-section where the lace and chiffon meet is not well sewn and poofed out to give me a weird belly. The skirt was frumpy and the way the waist cuts with the lace created an artificial bulge/worsened my "saddlebags". I think this looks beautiful on the model, but not in real life.
For reference, I am small on top and heavier around my hips. I'm a 12 street size, and ordered this in a size 10. Could have gone to a size 8 with some Spanx.
