The Perfect dress!
I am Indian and my partner is American. We got married in a beach town in Goa, India. I was looking for something a little quirky, delicate and flowy and easy to handle. My sister found me the Onyx and it was The perfect dress! I bought it in a size 0. It fit my front chest perfectly but the lace part at the back sagged a little. I had a local seamstress alter the length, leave the trail, put hooks for a bustle and tighten the lace at the back by tucking it in to the cloth part. We started with taking it up at the shoulders but that gave it a behind my neck collar/queen like look that I didn't like. Then she tried tucking the lace into the back corset cloth part and it looked much better. Keep in mind the more you tuck in more the lace pattern you lose. I also bought the breathless halo for my hair which brought out the exact look and feel I wanted. It would have been very helpful if the BHLDN store had their own seamstress to suggest how to make the alterations with their delicate material and design. But they don't. I was very fortunate to find someone who did a great job fitting it to my size. The stylists at the Georgetown store were very helpful with suggestions and ensuring timely delivery and returns.

This dress was perfection! The fit was just about right-on. I'm typically a size 8, and ordered that size in this dress. I just had the bust nipped in a bit on the sides with no issues, and took several inches off the length. The lace overlay is absolutely gorgeous. All in all, this was the perfect fit for our elegant but quirky farm wedding. I received oodles of compliments, which made the price tag a little more palatable. I love that this dress is forever an heirloom part of our special day.

I really loved this dress. It fit almost like a glove and only needed a few alterations. I have to say it was a little bit difficult to alter because if you take it up at the shoulders it sort of cuts out the pattern, but if you take it up at the waist there's only so far you can go until it again takes away from the pattern. I managed to make it work for me, but it's something to consider if you need to do a lot of work to make it fit you.
On the day it flowed beautifully and caught the wind at all the right moments. I got a lot of compliments on it and the general consensus was that it was elegant while still being a bit fun and natural.
If I had to have one criticism of it, I got pretty overheated and the lace started to itch on the back after the while. However, I was in Bermuda so that is mostly down to the humidity, and I was planning on changing into a dress for dancing anyway so it was not such a big deal for me. Oh and also, the tulle train caught on the pavement a lot, so my maid of honour had to carry it down the aisle after me (which as concrete steps) and I had to carry it on most surfaces that weren't grass, carpet or tile.

I am French and my husband is British. I was looking for something classy and romantic that would bring a little bit of lace, a little bit of a ballerina feeling and I couldn't have dreamed of a better dress. The fitting was good, slightly larger on the top but I didn't need to alter it ( I bought a size 8 and I am 1m80). The only issue I encountered was a long stain ( potentially due to the label) on the bra area but hopefully my neighbour solved that out. A tip though : remove the label once you know it is THE dress for you to avoid very unpleasant surprise a month before the wedding....
The dress was so light to wear, everybody complimented it. I would highly recommend that dress.
