Perfect for destination wedding
I wore this dress for my destination wedding on the beach this winter and absolutely loved it. It was soft and comfortable, but looked much more expensive than it actually was. The lace is very high quality and beautiful. The weight is perfect for an outdoor wedding in a warm environment - incredibly comfortable and breathable.
I picked out the dress on a Sunday and it was hanging in my closet by Thursday - no muss, no fuss. It was very true to size for me and I bought the same size I wear on a daily basis. If I hadn't lost weight prior to the wedding I wouldn't have had to make any alterations, in the end I only took down a size due to my own weight loss... no hemming needed for me with this one, which was a big surprise (5'4" with a 2" heel).
I brag about my BHLDN experience all the time - ended up buying almost everything for the wedding from this store and was incredibly happy with every choice. No stress, just a gorgeous dress that fit my budget and made me feel like a million bucks.

Read This for Lingerie and Alteration Tips! :)
First, if you are tempted to buy this dress - do it. It is so wonderfully soft against your skin, and you will feel like a beautiful goddess with silk and fine (as in like so silky smooth and high quality!) lace against you. I tried on a lot of dresses and was hesitant about buying online, but I had an excellent experience with BHLDN and the dress worked out great for me (and hope it does for you, too! :) )
Before we get to the good stuff, about me so you can compare: I'm 5'7", size 12, 38B (sigh... never curvy in the good places...), not fat, not skinny... just your typical chick who enjoys a little too much cheese and wine. And then pays for it at the gym the next day.
I'd like to share some alterations and lingerie tips for ladies who have bought this dress:
Lingerie: All you need is nude underwear or (if you're like me) Spanx underneath this gown. I made the mistake of buying one of those corset-type thingies and it was visible underneath the gown. Save your money! No scratchy tulle or breath holding contraptions required to look great in this dress. Buy something saucy for your honeymoon instead.
Alterations: The dress *is* long, as other reviewers mention. I budgeted several hundred dollars for alterations because of the lacy bottom -- it has to be hemmed from the waist. I was afraid that due to the lace appliques / patternwork (look at the model's right and left hip), that it might potentially look weird. Here's what I've discovered: The dress comes with removable silk spaghetti straps. If you wear the straps tightened properly so the waist hits right under the bra line, it shortens the dress! I'm a winter bride and will be wearing a cashmere cardigan over the dress anyway. So... I got away with NO alterations wearing 2 1/2" heels and with the straps. If you're planning on wearing it strapless, this might not work for you. But, if you're willing to wear higher heels, God Bless you and try it! You might be pleasantly surprised. Use your extra savings for your saucy honeymoon lingerie fund ....or to pay your DJ.
-Best wishes for a happy marriage and great wedding day. I hope you love this dress as much as I do. I'll post pics after the ceremony. :)

My BHLDN experience began when I called the shop in Chicago for a last minute appointment when I found out my original dress which was ordered in January had not been made because of a computer error at the company's processing center, and it went undiscovered until late June!
My wedding date was August 10th 2013, and when I called the Chicago shop they were so accommodating to my last minute needs and made an appointment with Kate for 2 days later.
When I came to the appointment, I was on my own, my family is from out of town & couldn't make the trip so quickly to Chicago, but Kate & a few of the women from the new Beverley Hills shop were so sweet and made me feel so comfortable at a very stressful time.
When I tried on the Luella dress I knew it was the right dress for me! I am 5'2 and on the curvier side, about a size 10 and 32DDD bra size. The dress fit so well in all the right places. I tried on the stock piece in a 12, and ordered a 10, which still needed to be taken in a bit at the top, and the length was able to be adjusted by hemming it from the waist, so the lace at the bottom of the dress was not disturbed, which was a concern of mine. The one thing my seamstress recommended was to sew in a corset to give the dress more support, as it did tend to slide down a bit with a strapless bra on.
Overall my whole experience shopping for & wearing a BHLDN dress was amazing, and I am so thankful to have had such a stress free experience at the Chicago BHLDN after having to select a second dress less than 2 months from my wedding! I would recommend shopping with BHLDN to anyone!

lovely and elegant...perfect!
I absolutely LOVE this dress. I am lucky enough to live in Chicago, so I made an appointment and met with Ally. She was amazing. She suggested I try the Luella, but I was initially against anything strapless. Then I put on this gown. I felt like a BRIDE. I didn't have to look any further. The lace is so soft... Excellent quality. The bust detailing is gorgeous without adding any embellishments. I felt elegant, beautiful and it felt simple so I could accessorize any way I wanted. I am a size 12. There was a chance I could have gone down to a size 10 so I ordered both, but my chest was a little tight. I kept the 12. Thankfully I have to do little to no alterations - maybe just pulling in the chest/waist a bit. I'm curvy, and this dress is very flattering. I couldn't be happier. My Mother and MIL-to-be both said I picked the perfect gown. If you have the opportunity to visit a BHLDN store, I highly recommend it. The experience put me in the perfect state of mind for finding the dress that made me feel beautiful. I couldn't ask for more.
