Pretty but not worth shipping to Canada This is a pretty dress, but I had a few issues with it. I'm 5'3", 115 lbs and ordered a 2 despite a stylist recommending a 0. The 2 was the right call - but it's still a slighly weird fit - there's a built-in somewhat rib-crushing bra that dips low, but the outside shell of the dress is kind of loose. So I've put one of those bra-extender things in the built-in bra so I can breathe, but still need to get parts of the the outer shell altered smaller. It also definitely needs a belt as there's a lot of "poof" around the waist and it kind of minimizes the bust - so your figure had better stand on its own, as it's getting no help! Given the sizing changes required, I might have returned it except that the shipping plus Canadian taxes had already driven the cost up by over $250, which I would forfeit by returning it. Canadians note: even made-in-U.S. dresses like this one, which are only subject to Canadian tax rather than duty under NAFTA, are still getting slapped with UPS's exhorbitant brokerage fees. Anyway, I still like it...I'm just not sure it's worth the $1,000 it ended up costing me, only to still need various alterations... June 20, 2012
Very Pretty I really thought this dress was going to be the winner as my reception dress. It was beautiful, and I love the fabric, it's very pretty! However, I felt like my "girls" were going to fall out, lol. It didn't flatter my figure but might be perfect for another bride :) This dress is TTS. I recommend wearing a sash or belt with the dress as pictured here, as it helps define the waist more and flatten the fabric. Very cute but not the "one" for me. February 8, 2012
So close, but not quite I really, really wanted to love this dress! I have been looking, without much success, for a short (but not too short) dress for my September wedding. I saw a long version of a dress like this by Ivy & Aster at a local store which was way outside my price range. When I found this dress, I thought I had hit the jackpot! Unfortunately, it was close, but not quite perfect. The fabric is so cute, and I love the layering. However, the fabric on the bodice is gathered in such a way that it poofed out under the chest area in a really unflattering way. You can see it on the model's side photo, but she is thin enough that it doesn't look terrible. On me, (5'10", 160 size 8), it looked akward. The chest was cute, the waist was cute, but the side view of all the fabric poofing ruined the profile for me. I debated and debated and tried to think of a way to pin all the fabric down, but instead, I sadly returned the dress. January 3, 2012
Perfect for me! I am so excited about this dress. I can't wait to wear it for my outdoor garden wedding. I'm 5'2" and 115 lbs, I got the 4 which is a little big on me, but I think the 2 would have been too small. I bought the same belt the model is wearing and plan to make my own veil. The best part about this dress, I think, is the quality for the price and I won't be wearing this dress once! December 10, 2011
