Perfect and romantic
I have never written a review before, but I am so thrilled by this dress, I couldn't not.
The dress is stunning, with lace detail, champagne underlay (or ivory, but I think the champagne makes the lace detail pop, and gives a nice vintage feel), flattering v neckline and gorgeous detailed button back.. i never expected to have a wedding dress 'moment', but I did, and once I tried it on (4th dress, but the one I came to BHLDN to see) I knew I had found the one! :-) For reference, I am 5ft 7in, 138lbs, and the 4 fit perfectly, no alterations required (assuming 4 inch heel).
I have done a lot of online searching, and for the price, this dress cannot be beat if you are looking for comfort and elegance for your special day.
The only issue I have now is trying to find a lace bolero or some kind of cover up in the event of chilly weather!

I felt compelled to leave this review after reading a review that stated they were disappointed in the dress they received.
I loved my experience at BHLDN, and I can't shut up about it. I went to the Georgetown store and was helped by the lovely Sydney. To any DC brides, I would *highly recommend* working with her.
It was my first experience dress shopping, but I had gone to multiple appointments with my sister in law in DC and NYC when she was dress shopping. Some reasons why I loved BHLDN:
- They had dresses in my requested styles and some additional ones pulled for me.
- I was able to try on dresses in my size (!!) instead of being clamped into or feeling like a sausage in too big or too small dresses.
- They let you take photos, which a lot of bridal stores do not. It's nice to be able to see how a dress photographs, and it's also nice to be able to share with and send to your loved ones.
This was the fourth dress I tried on, and it was "the one". I wasn't sure if I'd have a dress moment, but this dress was just so perfect. I had originally really wanted to try on an additional style, but when I was in this dress I did not feel the need. I will be having a Catholic 2pm ceremony followed by a 5pm reception, so comfort was a big concern for me. The dress is light and airy. As other reviews stated, it really nicely hugs your curves. The V-neck and open back add some interest/fun, but are still quite modest. In the store, I tried on the Ivory/Champagne, which I really liked b/c it really makes the lace detail pop. I decided to go with the Ivory/Ivory, which the store did not have stocked b/c it was a new color, b/c I thought it would be better for my skin tone. I'm having a May wedding, and I think the Champagne in certain lights could fade me out. I'm also quite fair skinned, and I think the Ivory/Ivory makes a more traditional/bridal statement.
The dress came promptly in 5-7 days (with a 30 day return policy!) and was packaged beautifully. I was wow-ed by the dress I received. Obviously samples are a bit beat up, so I was very anxious to see my new dress. The lace details are beautiful. I love the flower detail. In the Ivory/Ivory, you still capture the lace detail at the bottom of the dress. Also - since I had tried on the dress in my size, I had no surprises sizing-wise.
I don't think I will need any alterations aside from a bustle. I am 5'9 and I should be able to wear 2.5-4" wedges for the perfect length. I will consider alterations closer to the date, but I'm not sure if I'll need any. I was considering two sizes, and I ordered the larger. I'm also hoping to lose some weight before the big day. The dress falls really nicely. As I said before, it really nicely hugs your curves - while the v-neck and open back add a sense of fun / sexiness while still being very modest. I don't think I'll need any alterations b/c it gives a slightly loose/billowy look while still hugging curves. The pictured model (is gorgeous) but I think has a pretty straight body, so you don't really see this. So sorry for the ramble. but love BHLDN and love this dress.

I wanted this to be the one
I tried this dress on in the BHLDN Chestnut Hill location and absolutely loved it. I promptly ordered it and was tickled that I found "the dress." However, I was really disappointed by the dress that arrived. The slip underneath felt very cheap and was very ill fitting. The dress felt kind of cheap and I found some buttons had fallen off before I even tried it on. I know wedding dresses are meant to be tailored, but this dress would have needed VERY heavy tailoring to fit me (I am petite, 5'2" and 110 lbs, and ordered a 00 and it was huge on me in all the wrong places). I was hoping by ordering from BHLD I could avoid dealing with too many alterations, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Sadly, the dress has been returned and I am back on the hunt.

Gorgeous perfect mix of classic and sexy
my experience at the NYC store with Emily was amazing. I traveled from Buffalo, and if you have the option of going to the store to try on all of the amazing dresses - i say go for it you won't regret it. Unlike typical bridal shops you aren't clipped into a dress that is too large and left to imagine what it might look like.
The dress i tried on resembles picture 3 because the lining is champagne. They offer it in 2 lining colors ivory and champagne. I think that the champagne makes the classic style and look of the dress a bit more current and modern. The back is amazing and will add interest especially with an up-do.
For reference-I am five feet tall and typically wear a 4 or 6 petite with a 36C chest. The 4 fit perfectly in the body and will just need the straps taken up and the length shortened. ( the way they described the process i do not think hemming will take away from the dress at all).
i also want to say i hadn't planned on getting this style of dress. i really wanted something fitted to the waist and flowy but found that because of my height a body skimming fitted style suited me best .
short curvy girls- try this dress!!! you will feel amazing in it. I can't speak for the lucky average height and above girls out there- but I can't say enough good things about this dress
