How to: Host an At-Home Bridal Fitting

Invite your mom, grandma, and close friends over for second opinions while you try on your could-be gown for the first time. Add some refreshments, tunes, and voilà! A sweet and memorable at-home fitting. Here are a few planning tips...

In the weeks before

{ 1 }
Contact a BHLDN stylist for help narrowing down your favorite gowns. Learn about how our stylists can help here

{ 2 }
Once you've ordered your gown, plan to host your at-home fitting within a week or two of its arrival so that you stay safely inside our 30 day return policy

{ 3 }
Decide where you'd like to host the fitting. Whether it's your home or your grandmother's, for example, consider what will be most comfortable and conducive to a special occasion

{ 4 }
Send out invitations (or evites). We love the idea of including your future mother-in-law, too!

{ 5 }
This event could also be a great time to ask friends and family to be part of your bridal party

Day-of Prep

{ 1 }
Curate a list of tunes to set the mood

{ 2 }
Have special drinks and desserts on hand
(just not near the gown!)

{ 3 }
Arrange chairs, pillows, and/or a seating area for your guests; be sure the area is clean and free of all pet hair (so as not to incur a restocking fee if you decide to return the gown)

{ 4 }
Designate a photo-savvy friend to take photos throughout

{ 5 }
Make sure all boys are busy! You don’t want
the groom stopping by...

{ 1 }
Heels

{ 2 }
Accessories

{ 3 }

{ 4 }
