I was very happy with the Onyx dress for my wedding, and I think the best decision I made was to pair it with the Sparkled Skinny Sash instead of the ribbon sash that comes with it. It really added some extra elegance and was actually more flattering on my waist as the ribbon has a tendency to fold a bit when you sit and move around. I was able to wear shapewear with transparent straps which also made things much more comfortable. They were slightly visible when you looked closely but not enough to matter to me! Loved the color, loved the flowy feel. Had a bustle added for dancing. The top layer stretched out a little bit even with the try-ons but not enough to bother me. Overall I was very pleased with the dress and would recommend it!

by Peyton It was absolutely perfect!
I tried on so many dresses to no success. Finally my mom said "just order the onyx dress and see if you like it in person." I got married in a garden in San Francisco and had a reception at an old victorian place so I wanted the dress to fit both locations. I slipped it on (even though I had the flu and had no makeup on and my hair was a mess). It fit like a glove. I didn't even have to get it altered! I lucked out. My friends were all obsessed with my dress. SUCCESS!!!

I purchased this dress in bisque from the Chicago location. The detail is simply stunning (the back is to die for) and layers of tool add beautiful movement. This dress is light weight and perfect for a spring, modern or rustic wedding. I promise you will feel magical. I would say this dress runs just slightly large. I purchased a size 2, i am 5'5 and 120lbs, 32D. I had alterations to the shoulders, lower back, hem, and added cups.
Some Cons (but you should know): This dress wrinkles easily. I recommend pressing a day before the wedding. The tool also tends to bunch together (my seamstress double stitched -or something like that- the bottom). This dress cannot be bustled. I eliminated most of the train. The belt shifts and unties easily. One could maybe sew in place? Also this dress isn't bra friendly -- go without, or add cups.
I paired my dress with BHDLN: heritage gloves & marquee crystal earrings

I wore this gown in champagne for my wedding on August 16, and it was just the perfect dress for me! It was flattering on my athletic, no-waist build and fit fairly true to size - I have a small bust and fairly wide ribs and waist, and usually wear a 10 in dresses - and this fit me snugly but almost perfectly out of the box. The only alterations needed were to take in the lace overlay at the shoulder hems - it was a little loose and bagged out at the sides - and to shorten the skirt and add a hook and loops for bustling.
It turned out perfectly, and I felt comfortable and beautiful all day long without having to worry or really think about the dress. It also moves beautifully, with the satin and all that tulle. I had picked out a gorgeous pair of "wedding" cowboy boots before finding a gown, so whatever I chose had to work in my mind with the boots - and I had my eye on this dress online for months before ordering. The other gowns I tried on locally just didn't quite tick all the boxes for me, but when I ordered this and tried it on, I knew it was the one.
